Respondents were gathered by means of convenience sampling. Interviewer-administered questionnaires administered during the pre and post interventions were used to gather data. Checklists were also utilized to determine the actual practices of respondents in the field before and after the intervention. Paired T test was used to analyze knowledge and actual practices questions. Wilcoxon Signed Rank test analyzed results on attitude and theoretical practices. Results for knowledge revealed that mean score before the lecture was 21.45. This increased to 25.65 and 24.80 on the first and second post-interventions respectively at with p value of .000. For the theoretical practices, an insignificant increase from 1.60 before the lecture to 1.63 ten days after it was given was noted at p value of .184. The same mean was noted during the second monitoring. On the third monitoring a significant decline with p value of .000 was observed as mean score regressed form 1.63 to 1.52. Actual practices of respondents was initially assessed at mean score of 8.25. After the intervention, it significantly increased to 14.30 at p value of 0.00. The mean scores for the second and third post interventions were 12.88 and 11.82 respectively with p value of .000.
