Objectives

GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To determine the normal values of pulmonary function among healthy Filipino infants and children aged 0-6 years old using the tidal breathing analysis in 5 areas around Philippine Heart Center.


SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:


1. To determine the ratio of time to peak tidal expiratory flow to expiratory time (tPTEF/tE) stratified into three groups: children 0-28 days; 1 month to 1 year 11 months; and 2 to 6 years old.


2. To determine the ratio of volume at peak tidal expiratory flow to expiratory volume (Vpef/vE) stratified into three groups: children 0-28 days; Imonth to 1 year 11 months; and 2 to 6 years old.


3. To determine the tidal volume/kg stratified into three groups; children 0-28 days; 1 month to 1 year 11 months; and 2 to 6 years old.
